Not since the days when Lebron’s hairline was still in tact have the Kings scored their opener at home, but this year they’ll get it–hypothetically–against the Houston Rockets.
Quick Analysis: I think it’s safe to says Mr. Fredette might have something to do with this. Fredette! Are you kidding me? This guy should be coming off the bench for crying out loud. The kid plays less defense than a rodeo clown sitting in a barrel. And raise your hand if you saw him drop a dime in college… I saw him once when he was about to, but then he pulled up for a 30 foot jumper instead. I don’t think we’ve ever seen so much hype around a player who is actually PROJECTED to be so-so at best, a nice role player. I just don’t understand it. Actually I do: he’s white.
There once was a player drafted out of Arizona State in 2000. He dropped 61 points against Cal that year, and over 40 points three other times. He jacked up threes from ridiculous range, and made them. I was younger, but I still remember watching him. He was freak scorer with crazy range. His name was Eddie House. Anyone roll out the red carpet for him? Anyone remember Eddie-mania? Was he invited to any celebrity golf tournaments? Face it guys, we all know what this Jimmer-mania is really about.
What I really wanted to say is that it looks like the league has recognized that Sacramento could use a boost. An opener at home with Jim-Jim on the court should be a good start.
