DeMar DeRozan lost his mind at the end of a recent drew league game. His team lost, after he was called for a charge in the final seconds. Watch DeMar go Dennis Rodman on the official: throwing the ball, shoving him, then relocating the guy and throwing his jersey at him. I think it’s safe to say if his name isn’t DeRozan, and he doesn’t play in the league, he probably doesn’t go off that way.
BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS… DeRozan apologized as indirectly as he possibly could, via Twitter, writing:
“I want to apologize for my actions at the Drew League today. I got caught up in the heat of the moment, but should’ve handled it better.” And then:
“Shout out to the Drew League for providing a great atmosphere for basketball. Appreciate the opportunity to play there!”
No, no, thank YOU DeMar! Shout out to YOU! Physical and verbal abuse of referees is our favorite thing. Next year we would like you to throw your shorts as well, and don’t shy away from any sort of open hand slap.
