We’ll see how it turns out, but it looks like the Lakers are going to close tonight’s game with Darius Morris–rookie out of Michigan–at the point. This could spell the beginning of a shift that has been coming for years. The Lakers can no longer compete at a championship level with Derek Fisher bringing the ball up, and with Steve Blake shelved for a decent chunk of time, this might be the young Morris’ chance. And just based on this one game against the Clippers, the kid is not afraid. If they do make the transition, Laker fans can only hope to not see another Smush Parker-type flame out. Good for Darius Morris thus far. We hope it works out for him.
